What Xero Platinum Partner Status Actually Means for Your Business

Xero's Platinum tier is the highest practice accreditation in the UK. Here is what PushDigits' Platinum status delivers for clients in terms of pricing, support and expertise.

The Xero Partner Programme is structured into Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers, with status determined by the number of active client subscriptions a firm manages on the platform. Platinum is the top tier and is held by only a small fraction of UK accountancy practices. Beyond the marketing badge, the practical benefits to clients of working with a Platinum partner are tangible.

Discounted subscription rates

Platinum partners receive the deepest wholesale discounts on Xero subscriptions, which we pass on to clients either as a reduced licence cost or bundled into a fixed monthly fee for accounting services. Over a three-year horizon, this typically saves a Growing-plan client a few hundred pounds compared to subscribing directly at retail price.

Faster and more senior support

Platinum partners have access to a named account manager and a priority support queue. When a feed breaks or a payroll filing fails, we are not waiting in the general queue with everyone else. For clients running monthly payroll deadlines or quarterly VAT, that response time matters.

  • Early access to features: Beta access to new Xero features such as enhanced bank rules and AI-driven categorisation suggestions.
  • Migration credits: Significant discounts on conversion tools when moving clients from Sage, QuickBooks Desktop or spreadsheets.
  • Training pipeline: Our team holds multiple Xero certifications including Payroll, Advisor, Migration and Practice Management.

Practice-level expertise

To maintain Platinum, a practice must continually grow its Xero base and ensure staff hold up-to-date certifications. This is not a one-off award but an ongoing performance commitment. The day-to-day implication is that the bookkeeper or manager working on your file has been trained to current Xero standards, not someone who learned the platform in 2019 and never refreshed.

What it means for onboarding

When a new client joins PushDigits, we run a discovery on their current setup, agree the chart of accounts structure, configure tracking categories, set bank rules and import historical data. Platinum-level tooling gives us migration utilities that compress this process from weeks to days for most SMEs. We also configure two-factor authentication, user permissions and accountant access correctly from day one, which many businesses get wrong when self-serving.
